When we all signed up and set up our respective roles in the sands, hopefully we all chose a role we could be true to and grow with as a character. In doing so, we all (hopefully) took into careful consideration how our characters would dress. Pretty basic concept, but many just don't seem to get it. We are in the DESERT. I realize it's a fantasy, I realize many cultures are represented here, but even visitors dress for the weather.

Here is a list of bad choices in dress for character's I've seen in the sands lately, and I get a twitch in my eye every time I see them.

1. Bling: Is there really an explanation needed for this one? Not only do the bling scripts add lag to the sim, but in reality, does your jewelry flash obnoxiously at everyone around you? Would a slave even have jewelry? Palace Harem girls perhaps would be adorned with jewels, but I have seen so many over accessorized slaves running in the sands lately, I think I'm going to go blind. And slaves, don't get your silks in a knot, you are not the only offenders of what I call "The Bling Armageddon."

2. High Heels: Don't get me wrong, I find high heels sexy. I will even accept them on Palace women and citizens, but if you consider the amount of running the rest of the women in the sim do in the sands chasing, fighting, or running away, how effective would those high heels really be? Wouldn't you sink in the sand? And don't even get me started on the "clip clop" sound effects.

3. Fake fingernails: NO. Just, NO.

4. Slave Bells: See above. I don't need to hear you coming from half way across the sim, thank you.

5. Horns: Okay, unless you are a demon (in the right Race/Group, I might add), you probably wouldn't be sprouting horns from your head. I've seen Bedu's with horns, citizens with horns, etc. I think horns should be left to those whose character would actually HAVE horns, not just worn because you think they look cool. And while I'm on the subject.....

6. Wings: Yes, I am aware there are Fae, Angels, and Vampires in the sim. I am also painfully aware there are Magi and such pretending to be faeries. Your cartoon wings are not cute with your little tutus and tiaras. Join the Djinn group, talk to someone who RP's a Fae truly, and tone it down please.

7. Flying Fish: Come on, would Merfolk really fly through the sands fully finned? Uh, no. Not even in those annoying little floating bubbles. They make land walker scales. Use those. And while I'm thinking about Mer, those little bubbles just don't work for me coming out of your mouth when you speak to me, unless I'm underwater conversing with you.

8. Nekos: *Facepalms. Bedus with tails? *Facepalms again.

9. Weapons: Note to some of you, the only weapons that actually WORK in the sim, are made and sold by the sim owners. Wearing your oversized swords doesn’t really make you look any fiercer. Actually, I normally laugh at you when I see you laboring to walk through the sim. Was that the look you were going for?

10. Excite parts: I am not in the LEAST bit interested in knowing when or who is touching your clit or nipples, or other parts of your avatar. I don't care what scent you give off. I don't care if you blow your hair out of your face. I don't care if you get an erection, and I certainly don't need your cock to announce its arrival to me. Besides, have you ever heard of LAG? Yes little billy/susie, those add to it, too.

11. Scripted silks: If you can emote, you don't need these lag creators either. I don't need to know when they're touched, or fluffed, or straightened, or ripped off.

12. Particles: Again, NO. Rain in the desert for no reason? Pretty sparkly things floating around you? Cartoonish magic effects? Massive flames? (Okay, if you're RPing burning something down, I can let this one slide unless the sim is already slow) Teleporting effects? NO. LAG LAG LAG!!!

13. Knights that act like prey/slaves: *Facepalms. Since when are Knights prey/slave? I see some of them looking to be capped nearly as often as the prey. Where are the Noble Leaders of Old? Will they ever come back and rescue us? I think I feel a future post on this one.

14. Horses: Yes, they are in theme, yes they are pretty (well, some are), but what they really should be called are LAG MONSTERS! And, yes, I am in sim fluttering near two as I post this.

I am sure there are others and they will be added in comments. There are really too many to list in one sitting. However, I will add the following absurdities seen in the sands. We want people to take our sim seriously, don't we? Better RP, lots of people, etc. So, all I can say is WHY??

1. Cartoon cow hat, shooting flames out of its ass.
2. People wearing modern clothes. Sneakers????
3. Outfits made of fruit
4. Modern picketing signs
5. Ice skating avatars
6. The list could go on....

Maybe not everyone comes to the sands to engage in serious RP, although I think that RP was the intent of the creators. Maybe the ones that do want to RP seriously will get fed up and leave. Too late, some already have. Some of you are destroying what others have been loyal to and loved for a very long time. Shame on you.
